BITSAT Cut-Off Related FAQs

The cut-off is the minimum score required to qualify for admission into various BITS campuses and courses. It varies yearly based on exam difficulty and seat availability.

The BITSAT cut-off is determined by considering several factors including the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, the availability of seats in each program, the popularity of specific courses (like Computer Science), and the overall performance of candidates in the exam, with a higher number of applicants and a more difficult exam generally leading to a higher cut-off score.

No, cut-offs may vary slightly between Session 1 and Session 2, but final admission is based on the best score across both attempts.

If your score is lower than the required cut-off:

  • You can apply for other branches with lower cut-offs
  • Try appearing for Session 2 (if you took only Session 1)
  • Consider other BITS programs like M.Sc. dual degrees, which have relatively lower cut-offs

Yes, the BITSAT cut-off can change after each seat allotment round, as the authorities release a new cutoff mark after every iteration of counselling, meaning the cutoff can fluctuate depending on the number of candidates accepting seats in previous rounds; essentially, the cutoff can decrease slightly after each round if many candidates with higher ranks accept their allotted seats.

Yes, you can potentially get admission to BITS with a lower BITSAT score, but it depends on the specific branch you want, the BITS campus you are aiming for, and the overall cutoff for that branch and campus; generally, a lower score might only secure admission to less popular branches or campuses at BITS.
