BITSAT 2025 Registration

Overview

The BITSAT eligibility criteria ensure that only qualified candidates can apply for admission to BITS Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses. Key points include:

  • Educational Qualification – Candidates must have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology from a recognized board.
  • Minimum Marks Required – At least 75% aggregate in PCM/PCB and 60% in each subject.
  • Year of Passing – Only candidates who have passed Class 12 in 2024 or appearing in 2025 are eligible.
  • Attempts Allowed – Students can appear for both sessions, and the best score will be considered for admission.
  • Direct Admission for Board Toppers – State and central board first-rank holders get direct admission to their preferred program.

Basic Eligibility Criteria

The basic eligibility criteria for appearing in BITSAT 2025 are as follows:

1. Nationality
  • Only Indian citizens can apply for BITSAT.
  • Foreign students may apply under the International Admissions Scheme (separate from BITSAT).
2. Educational Qualification
  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Mathematics students can apply for B.E. (Engineering) programs.
  • Biology students can apply for B.Pharm programs.
3. Minimum Marks Requirement
  • Candidates must have at least 75% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
  • Must score at least 60% in each subject separately.
4. Year of Passing
  • Candidates must have completed Class 12 in 2024 or appearing in 2025.
  • Those who passed before 2023 are not eligible.
5. Number of Attempts
  • A candidate can appear in both Session 1 & Session 2 in the same year.
  • If they take both sessions, the best score will be considered for admission.

These criteria ensure that only academically eligible students apply for BITSAT.

Direct Admission for Board Toppers

BITS Pilani offers direct admission to first-rank holders of all central and state boards in India. This is a special provision to encourage academic excellence.

BITSAT RequirementBITSAT is not mandatory for board toppers. They get direct admission based on board exam performance.
Choice of Campus & ProgramEligible students can choose any B.E. or B.Pharm program at BITS Pilani, Goa, or Hyderabad as per availability.

This provision ensures that academically brilliant students secure a seat at BITS without appearing for BITSAT.

Eligibility for Droppers in BITSAT

Candidates who took a gap year after Class 12 can still apply for BITSAT, but they must meet specific eligibility criteria.

Eligibility for International Students in BITSAT

BITS Pilani offers admission to international students under the International Admissions Scheme, which is different from the regular BITSAT process.

BITSAT RequirementBITSAT is not required for international students. Admission is based on SAT scores (Scholastic Assessment Test).

Year of PassingMust have passed Class 12 in 2024 or be appearing in 2025.
Application ProcessInternational students apply through a separate admission portal, not via BITSAT.
This scheme allows foreign/NRI students to secure admission at BITS Pilani, Goa, or Hyderabad based on their SAT scores.

Number of Attempts & Best Score Consideration in BITSAT

BITS Pilani allows candidates to take two attempts at BITSAT in a single admission cycle, ensuring that students get a fair chance to improve their scores.

Ineligibility Conditions for BITSAT

Candidates will be disqualified from applying for BITSAT if they fail to meet any of the following eligibility criteria:
